Even in "professional dress" places where the men are wearing jackets and ties, the women are often running around in sleeveless shirts or what are essentially T-shirts, sandals, and bare legs.TAShttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00260719592299142917noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5676126733684584121.post-81420162149856455332010-06-01T10:06:32.405-05:002010-06-01T10:06:32.405-05:00"No woman is walking around trying to "a..."No woman is walking around trying to "attract" this attention. Work places are now ridiculous. Even shy girls dress like prostitutes. But as the Socialist Police State grows what speech is free will continue to shrink. Look at that kid getting arrested for saying "all black people leave the store" at Walmart.

The goal of feminists like Kearl is to expand big daddy government and legislate every action of a man. Oh and I'm not surprised by the angry comments from a couple of women here, notice the typical shaming tactics. Screw them.orangenoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5676126733684584121.post-81910875021911458282010-03-16T16:21:33.911-05:002010-03-16T16:21:33.911-05:00@beckie weinheimer: Actions such as those you desc...@beckie weinheimer: Actions such as those you described should be illegal. However, Kearl wants to ban verbal comments, not just physical actions.

Here is what she writes:
"Do you remember when it was legal for a man to make sexually explicit or sexist remarks to a woman on the street or at a bus stop? I do. Sexual harassment in public is legal. But it shouldn't be."

Note that she also wants to ban "sexist remarks" in public. That's going far, far beyond stalking and assault.

@anonymous: I am more of a legal expert than a 14-year old anonymous troll such as you.

If you do not like reading articles by people who are not certified experts in every field, then do not browse blogs and instead return to 4chan.

@Golden Silence:
"Tell that to women who are wearing fat winter coats and burkas. Regardless of what a woman's wearing, whether she's not wearing much or covered head to toe, she can receive harassment."

Anyone can receive harassment, of course. But do you really think a woman who in a winter coat (that presumably obscures most of her form) receives as much "street harassment" as a woman in a short skirt and sleeveless, cleavage-exposing shirt?

"No woman is walking around trying to "attract" this attention. No woman in her right mind wants this attention."

Women who dress in revealing clothing will attract the attention of men. This is a well-known phenomenon. Some men will just glance at the women and go about their business, others will watch them or stare, while a few will call out comments towards them. I think it is kind of sad that an individual who runs a blog devoted to make-up does not understand how men are attracted to women.

"Seriously, dude, you're a loser."

A feminist calling someone a loser is like the pot calling the kettle black. Have fun with your cats.

"I think this is a case of a rejected asshole taking his frustrations out on all women."

I think the last paragraph of my post applies to you as well as Kearl.

"I can't take anything you typed seriously."

The fact that you left a rather long comment on my blog suggests otherwise.TAShttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00260719592299142917noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5676126733684584121.post-88168726709028167102010-03-16T13:56:24.528-05:002010-03-16T13:56:24.528-05:00"Since Flyover Libertarian admits to that he/..."Since Flyover Libertarian admits to that he/she isn't a legal expert then I'll ignore his/her legal analysis."

Pretty much! His/her argument went out the window when s/he said the following:

"If women want to end street harassment, there's a really good reason: don't dress like a slut. Regardless of what a woman's wearing, whether she's not wearing much or covered head to toe, she can receive harassment.

And another Flyover doozy:

"Yes, I realize I am being politically incorrect and "blaming the victim," but I simply do not care. If women do not want attention, then they should not do their best to attract it."

No woman is walking around trying to "attract" this attention. This young girl was an honor student, just trying to get home from school.

Also statistics show that females are assaulted wearing sweats and jeans and no make up as often as they are when they are "dressed up," or wearing revealing clothes.

I was 15 years old, wearing a high necked long sleeved knee length dress carrying a stack of books on my way to school when I was approached by a 17 year old male whose street harassment turned into a rape attempt, on a quiet part of my morning commute to school.

Women who want to stop street harassment are not talking about "Hello, how are you," We are talking about men stopping, crowding us, and saying things about our bodies, that could escalate into harmful acts.

Just my two cents. But thanks for bringing this topic up. For me that's what its all about dialogue!Beckie Weinheimerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17661557175410917100noreply@blogger.com
